Le déjeuner du dimanche en famille

Le dimanche, la famille Martin se réunit chez les grands-parents. La table est longue et claire. Il y a du pain, une salade simple, et un poulet rôti. La grand-mère sourit, le grand-père raconte une petite histoire. Les enfants écoutent, rient, puis aident à mettre les verres et les assiettes. L’odeur de la cuisine est chaude et agréable. Après la soupe, tout le monde prend le poulet avec des pommes de terre. Ils disent merci, ils parlent de l’école, du travail, et du voisin. Puis ils boivent un café, les enfants boivent un jus. Ensuite, la famille fait une courte promenade au parc. Le dimanche finit doucement, ensemble, avec des câlins et un au revoir.

On Sundays, the Martin family meets at the grandparents’ house. The table is long and bright. There is bread, a simple salad, and a roast chicken. The grandmother smiles, the grandfather tells a little story. The children listen, laugh, then help to set the glasses and plates. The smell from the kitchen is warm and pleasant. After the soup, everyone has chicken with potatoes. They say thank you; they talk about school, work, and the neighbor. Then they drink a coffee; the children drink a juice. Next, the family takes a short walk in the park. Sunday ends gently, together, with hugs and a goodbye.
