Une visite à la pharmacie

Ce matin je me réveille avec la gorge sèche et une petite fièvre. Je suis fatigué et je tousse souvent. Je décide d’aller à la pharmacie près de mon appartement pour demander de l’aide. Dehors la croix verte brille et la porte glisse. À l’intérieur le sol est propre et ça sent le savon. Il y a trois personnes dans la file alors j’attends calmement avec mon écharpe. Quand c’est mon tour le pharmacien me salue et demande comment il peut aider. Je parle doucement et j’explique mes symptômes. Ma gorge fait mal quand j’avale, mon nez est bouché, et j’ai de la toux depuis hier soir. Je demande quel médicament je peux prendre sans danger. Il me demande si je suis allergique et si je prends déjà un traitement. Je dis non. Alors il recommande un sirop pour la toux, des pastilles pour la gorge, et un spray pour le nez. Il explique la dose et me donne des conseils simples. Je prends deux pastilles par jour, une cuillère de sirop matin et soir, et le spray trois fois. Il dit aussi de boire de l’eau et de rester au chaud. Je paie et je rentre chez moi. Je lis la notice, je me repose, et je vais appeler le médecin si je ne vais pas mieux.

English Translation

This morning I wake up with a dry throat and a slight fever. I am tired and I cough often. I decide to go to the pharmacy near my apartment to ask for help. Outside the green cross shines and the door slides. Inside the floor is clean and it smells like soap. There are three people in the line, so I wait calmly with my scarf. When it is my turn the pharmacist greets me and asks how he can help. I speak softly and explain my symptoms. My throat hurts when I swallow, my nose is blocked, and I have a cough since last night. I ask which medicine I can take safely. He asks me if I am allergic and if I already take a treatment. I say no. Then he recommends a syrup for the cough, lozenges for the throat, and a spray for the nose. He explains the dose and gives me simple advice. I take two lozenges per day, one spoon of syrup morning and evening, and the spray three times. He also says to drink water and to stay warm. I pay and I go home. I read the leaflet, I rest, and I am going to call the doctor if I do not get better.
