Taking the Angkot
Naik Angkot Pertama Kali
Nama saya Bima. Pagi cerah, aku mencoba naik angkot pertama kali menuju pusat kota. Sopir ramah memberi senyum hangat. Setelah melambaikan tangan, mobil kecil berhenti. Masuk perlahan, duduk dekat jendela, rasanya aman. Tujuan pasar tradisional, membawa tas mungil, dompet siap. Tarif tertulis pada kaca, harga lima ribu rupiah, uang pas lebih mudah. Lalu menyodorkan pembayaran, pengemudi mengangguk. Penumpang lain tersenyum; suasana tenang. Saat ingin turun, menekan bel, kemudian bilang kiri agar kendaraan menepi. Melangkah keluar, mengucap terima kasih. Pengalaman singkat membuat diriku percaya diri; sekarang memahami rute, cara membayar, serta etika sederhana ketika menggunakan transportasi umum.
English Translation
My name is Bima. On a bright morning, I try riding an angkot for the first time toward the city center. The driver is friendly and gives a warm smile. After waving my hand, the small car stops. I enter slowly, sit near the window, and it feels safe. The destination is the traditional market; I carry a tiny bag, and my wallet is ready. The fare is written on the glass, the price is five thousand rupiah, and exact money is easier. Then I hand over the payment, and the driver nods. Other passengers smile; the atmosphere is calm. When I want to get off, I press the bell, then say the word kiri so the vehicle pulls over. I step out carefully and say thank you. This short experience makes me confident; now I understand the route, how to pay, and simple etiquette when using public transport.
