Berlatih Pencak Silat

Pencak silat adalah seni beladiri tradisional dari Indonesia. Banyak orang berlatih untuk menjaga kesehatan, meningkatkan keseimbangan, dan membangun kepercayaan diri. Saya mulai kelas pemula di sebuah sanggar dekat rumah. Pelatih menjelaskan aturan keselamatan, pemanasan, dan cara menghormati teman latihan. Kami berdiri rapi, menarik napas dalam, lalu meregangkan leher, bahu, punggung, dan kaki. Setelah itu, kami belajar kuda kuda dasar dan langkah sederhana di lantai. Gerakan awal terasa lambat, tetapi tubuh saya mulai hangat. Nafas menjadi teratur, dan detak jantung naik, namun tetap nyaman. Pelatih mengajarkan pukulan lurus, sapuan ringan, serta tangkisan untuk melindungi diri. Kami berlatih berpasangan, bergantian memberi serangan dan melakukan pertahanan. Ketika salah, pelatih menegur dengan ramah dan menunjukkan perbaikan kecil agar postur tetap kuat dan aman. Selain fisik, pencak silat melatih fokus dan disiplin. Saya belajar mendengar aba aba, menjaga jarak, serta mengendalikan emosi. Setelah satu jam, tubuh lelah tetapi pikiran segar. Di akhir sesi, kami melakukan pendinginan dan peregangan lagi agar otot pulih. Saya pulang dengan langkah ringan, merasa bangga dan lebih sehat. Besok saya ingin datang lebih awal untuk mengulang gerakan dan berbicara dengan teman baru.

English Translation

Pencak silat is a traditional martial art from Indonesia. Many people practice to keep health, improve balance, and build self-confidence. I started a beginner class at a studio near my home. The instructor explained safety rules, warm-up, and how to respect training friends. We stood neatly, took deep breaths, then stretched the neck, shoulders, back, and legs. After that, we learned basic stances and simple steps on the floor. The first movements felt slow, but my body started to warm. The breath became regular, and my heart rate rose, but stayed comfortable. The instructor taught straight punches, light sweeps, and blocks to protect yourself. We practiced in pairs, taking turns giving attacks and doing defense. When wrong, the instructor corrected kindly and showed small fixes so posture stayed strong and safe. Besides the body, pencak silat trains focus and discipline. I learned to listen to commands, keep distance, and control emotions. After one hour, the body was tired but the mind was fresh. At the end of the session, we did cool-down and stretching again so the muscles recovered. I went home with light steps, feeling proud and healthier. Tomorrow I want to come earlier to review the movements and talk with a new friend.
