The Teacher
English Translation
Mr. Budi is a teacher at an elementary school in a small city. Every morning he arrives early, opens the classroom windows, and prepares books, chalk, and his lesson plan. He greets the school staff and smiles at students who start to arrive. He wants the classroom atmosphere to be warm and safe. He writes the date on the board, checks attendance, and arranges the chairs to be neat. He also puts color posters on the classroom wall. When the bell rings, he stands in front of the board. He teaches reading, writing, and arithmetic with a clear voice. He gives examples, then asks students to try by themselves. If anyone is confused, he comes closer patiently, explains slowly, and gives encouragement. He also invites students to work in pairs so they can help each other. At the end of the lesson, he gives simple homework to be done at home. During break, he supervises the yard, speaking kindly with students and coworkers. After that, there is a short meeting to discuss next week’s activities. In the afternoon, he checks assignment books, grades the work, and writes notes for parents. He believes every child can develop if given time and support. Therefore, he always keeps up the spirit, praises effort, and reminds them about discipline, cleanliness, and respect.
