I am a taxi driver. Every day I get up early, check the vehicle, clean the seats, adjust the rear-view mirror, and confirm the fuel level and the condition of the tires. I like a tidy car interior, because passengers feel more at ease. I put on a simple uniform, bring my driver’s license and phone, then turn on the meter and start today’s work. The morning rush hour is always busy. I wait for passengers near stations, malls, and hospitals, and I also accept ride requests by phone. Sometimes there is a traffic jam on the road, so I chat with passengers, introduce nearby sights, and recommend tasty small shops, so they do not feel anxious. If passengers are in a hurry, I choose a faster route, but I also obey traffic rules. At noon I rest in a quiet place, drink water, eat a simple boxed meal, send messages to my family, and tell them I am fine. In the afternoon the business is steady, I play relaxing music, pay attention to the temperature in the car, and keep the air fresh. When I meet travelers who come to the city for the first time, I answer questions patiently and remind them to watch their wallets and luggage. From evening to night I continue taking orders. The lights are beautiful and the streets are lively, but I am more careful. I rest at set times and do not drive when tired. Before I finish work, I settle today’s fees, clean the trash in the car, then drive home safely. I feel proud of my work, because every day I help many people arrive at the places they want to go.
