English Translation

He is called Teacher Wang, thirty-seven years old, and he lives on the east side of the city. He is a primary school Chinese teacher; his personality is gentle, and he is very patient. Every morning he gets up very early, prepares lessons, checks homework, then rides a bicycle to the school. The classrooms at the school are bright and clean; on the walls there are students’ drawings and characters. When he sees the students he smiles and greets them, and asks how they feel today. He believes a good start will help the children with the day’s study. During class he speaks clearly and writes neatly, using simple examples to explain new words and grammar. He often asks questions, encourages students to speak, and also arranges small group activities. If someone does not understand, he will explain again, or change to another method. He also pays attention to each student’s interests, giving them suitable books. Between classes he is on duty in the corridor, watching for safety, and he also talks briefly with parents. In the afternoon after school, he marks homework, writes feedback, and records study situations. Sometimes he prepares small activities for the class, such as a reading-aloud contest or organizing the library corner. In the evening he returns home, makes a simple dinner, then takes a walk and thinks about tomorrow’s plan. He feels that a teacher’s work is busy and tiring, but his heart is full; seeing the children make progress, he feels proud and happy.
