Taking the Bus in Peru

Tomar el bus en Perú

Hoy viajo por Lima y tomo el bus para ir al centro. En la parada miro el letrero con el número y el destino. Pregunto al chofer si el bus va a la plaza, y él dice que sí. Subo, pago con monedas, y guardo el boleto en mi bolsillo. Hay muchas personas, pero encuentro un asiento cerca de la ventana. Veo mercados, casas coloridas y vendedores en la calle. Para bajar, toco el timbre y camino hacia la puerta. El bus se detiene, digo gracias y bajo con cuidado. Me gusta este viaje simple y barato por la ciudad.

English Translation

Today I travel through Lima and take the bus to go to the center. At the stop I look at the sign with the number and the destination. I ask the driver if the bus goes to the square, and he says yes. I get on, pay with coins, and keep the ticket in my pocket. There are many people, but I find a seat near the window. I see markets, colorful houses, and vendors in the street. To get off, I press the bell and walk to the door. The bus stops, I say thank you, and I get off carefully. I like this simple and cheap trip through the city.
