Fiesta en el pueblo

Cada verano, el pequeño pueblo de San Miguel celebra una gran fiesta en la plaza. Durante una semana, los vecinos preparan todo con alegría y paciencia. Cuelgan banderines de colores entre las casas, limpian las calles y colocan mesas largas frente al ayuntamiento. La campana de la iglesia suena por la mañana y anuncia el inicio de las actividades. Los niños practican juegos sencillos, como carreras de sacos y la búsqueda del tesoro. Las abuelas cuentan historias antiguas, y los jóvenes organizan la música con altavoces y una lista de canciones populares. En los puestos de comida, las familias ofrecen platos caseros. Hay sopa caliente al anochecer, arroz con pollo, pan crujiente, queso, aceitunas y dulces de miel. Muchos vecinos preparan churros con chocolate, y el olor llena el aire. Al mediodía pasa un desfile con trajes tradicionales y bailes tranquilos. Un grupo toca guitarra y tambor, y la gente aplaude con ritmo. Los visitantes compran artesanías de madera y toman fotos en la fuente. Cuando llega la noche, todos se reúnen para ver los cohetes y una pequeña fogata segura. La fiesta termina tarde, y el pueblo queda cansado, pero contento y unido.

English Translation

Every summer, the small village of San Miguel celebrates a big festival in the square. For a week, the neighbors prepare everything with joy and patience. They hang colorful bunting between the houses, clean the streets, and place long tables in front of the town hall. The church bell rings in the morning and announces the start of the activities. Children practice simple games, like sack races and the treasure hunt. Grandmothers tell old stories, and the young people organize the music with speakers and a list of popular songs. At the food stalls, families offer homemade dishes. There is hot soup at dusk, rice with chicken, crusty bread, cheese, olives, and honey sweets. Many neighbors make churros with chocolate, and the smell fills the air. At noon a parade passes with traditional costumes and calm dances. A group plays guitar and drum, and people clap in rhythm. Visitors buy wooden crafts and take photos at the fountain. When night arrives, everyone gathers to watch the rockets and a small safe bonfire. The party ends late, and the village is left tired, but happy and united.
