School Trip to a Museum in Mexico

Excursión escolar a un museo en México

Ayer hice una excursión escolar a un museo famoso en la Ciudad de México. Viajé con mi clase en autobús y la maestra nos dio una lista con preguntas simples. Estaba emocionado porque me gusta aprender fuera del salón. Al llegar vimos un patio grande con fuentes y árboles. El guía habló despacio y claro y nos explicó la historia de muchas culturas. Entramos a una sala con esculturas antiguas y máscaras de piedra. También observamos el calendario azteca que es enorme y muy pesado. Tomé notas en mi cuaderno y saqué fotos para compartir con mis padres. Después visitamos una exposición sobre la vida diaria de las personas antiguas. Había ropa herramientas y juguetes. Yo toqué una réplica de una vasija y escuché música tradicional en una grabación. Luego participamos en un taller corto y pinté un símbolo en papel y escribí mi nombre. Al final compré una postal en la tienda del museo y bebí agua porque hacía calor. Regresamos a la escuela cansados pero contentos. Aprendí nuevas palabras practiqué español con el guía y comprendí mejor la historia de México. Quiero volver otro día con mi familia.

English Translation

Yesterday I went on a school trip to a famous museum in Mexico City. I traveled with my class by bus and the teacher gave us a list with simple questions. I was excited because I like to learn outside the classroom. When we arrived, we saw a large courtyard with fountains and trees. The guide spoke slowly and clearly and explained to us the history of many cultures. We entered a room with ancient sculptures and stone masks. We also looked at the Aztec calendar, which is huge and very heavy. I took notes in my notebook and took photos to share with my parents. After that we visited an exhibition about the daily life of ancient people. There were clothes, tools, and toys. I touched a replica of a pot and listened to traditional music in a recording. Then we took part in a short workshop and I painted a symbol on paper and wrote my name. At the end I bought a postcard in the museum shop and drank water because it was hot. We returned to school tired but happy. I learned new words, practiced Spanish with the guide, and understood Mexico's history better. I want to go back another day with my family.
