En México, un agricultor llamado Luis trabaja cada día en una pequeña granja cerca de Puebla. Se levanta antes del amanecer, prepara café sencillo y revisa el clima en su radio. Si el cielo está claro, sale con su sombrero, sus botas y una sonrisa tranquila. Su granja tiene maíz, frijol y calabaza. También cuida gallinas y un burro paciente. In Mexico, a farmer named Luis works every day on a small farm near Puebla. He gets up before dawn, makes simple coffee, and checks the weather on his radio. If the sky is clear, he goes out with his hat, his boots, and a calm smile. His farm has corn, beans, and squash. He also takes care of hens and a patient donkey. Luis waters the plants with water from the well, removes weeds, and looks at the leaves to detect pests. When rain is missing, he organizes shifts with his neighbors to share the irrigation. The work of the farmer is long but important. He understands the soil, knows the seasons, and plans the planting and the harvest. In autumn he cuts the ears of corn and stores them in sacks. Afterwards, he takes some to the town market. There he talks with customers, weighs the products, and explains how he grows them. With the money, Luis buys seeds, tools, and food for his family. He also saves a little for emergencies. Although there are sometimes difficulties, like storms or low prices, he feels proud. For Luis, working the land is a tradition and a way to help his community, because it offers healthy and nearby foods.
