Middag med vänner

Anna har bjudit in tre vänner till middag hemma hos sig. Det är fredag kväll och hon vill skapa en varm stämning efter en lång vecka. På köksbordet ligger en enkel meny: grön ärtsoppa med mynta, ugnsbakad lax med citron, rostad potatis och en krispig sallad, samt en liten chokladkaka till dessert. Innan gästerna kommer, öppnar hon fönstret för frisk luft, tänder några ljus och sätter på mjuk musik. Doften av vitlök och smör sprider sig i rummet och gör henne lugn. Vännerna, Leo, Sara och Malik, ringer på dörren nästan samtidigt. De tar av skorna och ger henne en bukett tulpaner och ett leende. Anna has invited three friends to dinner at her place. It is Friday evening and she wants to create a warm atmosphere after a long week. On the kitchen table lies a simple menu: green pea soup with mint, oven-baked salmon with lemon, roasted potatoes and a crisp salad, as well as a small chocolate cake for dessert. Before the guests arrive, she opens the window for fresh air, lights some candles, and puts on soft music. The smell of garlic and butter spreads through the room and makes her calm. The friends, Leo, Sara, and Malik, ring the doorbell almost at the same time. They take off their shoes and give her a bouquet of tulips and a smile. First they chat in the hallway about the week, the weather, and a new cafe in the neighborhood. Then they help out in the kitchen. Leo cuts bread and mixes a simple dressing. Sara washes the salad and slices cucumber and tomatoes. Malik tastes the soup and says that it needs a little salt, and she nods gratefully. When they sit down at the table, they toast with sparkling water with lemon slices. The conversation flows easily.
