The Sahara in Summer and Winter

الصَّحْرَاءُ فِي الصَّيْفِ وَالشِّتَاءِ

أَنَا سَافَرْتُ إِلَى الصَّحْرَاءِ الكُبْرَى وَرَأَيْتُ كَيْفَ تَتَغَيَّرُ بَيْنَ الصَّيْفِ وَالشِّتَاءِ. فِي الصَّيْفِ يَكُونُ الجَوُّ حَارًّا جِدًّا وَتَكُونُ الرِّمَالُ سَاخِنَةً. الشَّمْسُ قَوِيَّةٌ وَالنَّهَارُ طَوِيلٌ. النَّاسُ يَشْرَبُونَ مَاءً كَثِيرًا لِكَيْ يَبْقَوْا صِحِّيِّينَ. فِي الشِّتَاءِ يَكُونُ الجَوُّ أَبْرَدَ، وَفِي اللَّيْلِ تَنْخَفِضُ الدَّرَجَاتُ كَثِيرًا. أَحْيَانًا يَهْبُطُ المَطَرُ وَتَظْهَرُ نَبَاتَاتٌ صَغِيرَةٌ بَيْنَ الرِّمَالِ. أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَرَى هَذَا التَّغَيُّرَ، لِأَنَّ الصَّحْرَاءَ لَهَا وَجْهَانِ جَمِيلَانِ: وَجْهٌ حَارٌّ فِي الصَّيْفِ وَوَجْهٌ بَارِدٌ فِي الشِّتَاءِ.

English Translation

I traveled to the Sahara Desert and I saw how it changes between summer and winter. In summer the weather is very hot and the sand is hot. The sun is strong and the day is long. People drink a lot of water to stay healthy. In winter the weather is colder, and at night the temperatures drop a lot. Sometimes rain falls and small plants appear between the sand. I like to see this change, because the desert has two beautiful faces: a hot face in summer and a cold face in winter.
