Modern Standard Arabic is the shared formal variety, while diverse dialects are spoken in daily life across different regions. The language has had a profound influence on world culture, lending thousands of words to European, African, and Asian languages. Today, Arabic continues to thrive in media, education, and literature, while also serving as one of the six official languages of the United Nations.
