My Doctor's Appointment

مَوْعِدي عِندَ الطَّبيبِ

في الأُسبوعِ الماضِي حَجَزتُ مَوْعِدًا عِندَ طَبيبِ العائِلَةِ. كُنتُ أُريدُ فَحصًا دَورِيًّا لِلتَّأكُّدِ مِن صِحَّتي. في صَباحِ اليَومِ، ذَهَبتُ إِلى العِيادَةِ مُبَكِّرًا وَجَلَستُ في غُرفَةِ الاِنتِظارِ. بَعدَ دَقائقَ، نادَتِ المُمرِّضَةُ اِسمي وَأَدخَلَتني إِلى غُرفَةِ الطَّبيبِ. سَلَّمَ الطَّبيبُ عَلَيَّ وَسَأَلَني عَن حالَتي. قُلتُ إِنَّني أَشعُرُ بِالتَّعَبِ أَحيانًا وَأُريدُ التَّأكُّدَ مِن ضَغطِ الدَّمِ وَنَتيجَةِ الفُحوصاتِ. قاسَ الطَّبيبُ ضَغطَ دَمي وَقالَ إِنَّهُ طَبيعيٌّ. ثُمَّ فَحَصَ قَلبِي وَرِئَتَيَّ، وَاِستَخدَمَ السَّماعةَ لِيَستَمِعَ إِلى نَبضِي وَتَنفُّسي. بَعدَ ذلِكَ، أَخَذَتِ المُمرِّضَةُ عَيِّنَةَ دَمٍ لِإِجراءِ بَعضِ الفُحوصاتِ. شَرَحَ الطَّبيبُ أَنَّ النَّتائِجَ سَتَظهَرُ بَعدَ أُسبوعٍ، وَأَنَّهُ سَيتَّصِلُ بِي لِيُخبِرَني بِها. أَعطاني بَعضَ النَّصائِحِ حَولَ الطَّعامِ الصِّحّيِّ وَمُمارَسَةِ الرِّياضَةِ بِانتِظامٍ. خَرَجتُ مِنَ العِيادَةِ وَأَنا أَشعُرُ بِالرّاحَةِ. كُنتُ مَسرورًا لِأَنَّ الفَحصَ كانَ سَهلًا وَمُفيدًا. أَتَمنّى أَن أَستَمِرَّ في زِيارَةِ الطَّبيبِ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ لِلحِفاظِ عَلى صِحَّتي.

English Translation

Last week I booked an appointment with the family doctor. I wanted a routine check-up to make sure of my health. This morning, I went to the clinic early and sat in the waiting room. After a few minutes, the nurse called my name and took me to the doctor’s room. The doctor greeted me and asked me about my condition. I said that I sometimes feel tired and I wanted to check my blood pressure and the test results. The doctor measured my blood pressure and said it was normal. Then he checked my heart and lungs, and used the stethoscope to listen to my pulse and breathing. After that, the nurse took a blood sample to do some tests. The doctor explained that the results would appear after a week, and that he would call me to tell me about them. He gave me some advice about healthy food and doing exercise regularly. I left the clinic feeling comfortable. I was happy because the check-up was easy and useful. I hope to continue visiting the doctor every year to maintain my health.
