My First Days as an Engineer

أَوَّلُ أَيّامي كَمُهَندِسٍ

اِسمي عُمَر، وَأَنا مُهَندِسٌ جَديدٌ. في الشَّهرِ الماضِي بَدَأتُ عَمَلي في شَرِكَةٍ كَبيرةٍ لِلهَندَسَةِ. في البِدايَةِ كُنتُ مَسرورًا وَمُتَوَتِّرًا في نَفسِ الوَقتِ. كُنتُ أُفَكِّرُ: هَل سَأَكونُ نَاجِحًا في هَذا العَمَلِ؟ في أَوَّلِ يَومٍ، قابَلتُ مُديرِي وَزُملائي. كانُوا لَطيفينَ وَقَدَّموا لِي نَصائِحَ مُفِيدَةً. طَلَبوا مِنِّي أَن أَعمَلَ في مَشروعٍ صَغيرٍ لِتَصمِيمِ جُزءٍ مِن مَبنًى. اِستَخدَمتُ الحاسوبَ وَبَرامِجَ الرَّسمِ لِأُنجِزَ العَمَلَ. شَعَرتُ بِالفَخرِ عِندَما أَكمَلتُ المَشروعَ. في الأَيّامِ التّالِيَةِ، تَعلَّمتُ كَيفَ أُنَظِّمُ وَقتي بَينَ الاِجتِماعاتِ وَالعَمَلِ. أَحيانًا كانَ العَمَلُ صَعبًا، وَلكِنِّي أَطلُبُ المُساعَدَةَ مِن زُملائي. هُم يُساعِدونَني بِسُرورٍ، وَنَتَناقَشُ عَن أَفكارٍ جَديدَةٍ. اليَومَ أَشعُرُ أَنَّني أَصبَحتُ جُزءًا مِنَ الفَريقِ. أَدرُكُ أَنَّ العَمَلَ مُهِمٌّ لَيسَ فَقَط لِلمالِ، بَل أَيضًا لِلتَّطَوُّرِ وَتَعلُّمِ مَهاراتٍ جَديدَةٍ. أَنا مَسرورٌ بِمِهنتي كَمُهَندِسٍ، وَأَتَمَنّى أَن أُصبِحَ أَفضَلَ في المُستَقبَلِ.

English Translation

My name is Omar, and I am a new engineer. Last month I started my work in a large engineering company. At first, I was happy and nervous at the same time. I thought: Will I be successful in this job? On the first day, I met my manager and my colleagues. They were kind and gave me useful advice. They asked me to work on a small project to design a part of a building. I used the computer and drawing programs to finish the work. I felt proud when I completed the project. In the following days, I learned how to organize my time between meetings and work. Sometimes the work was difficult, but I asked for help from my colleagues. They helped me gladly, and we discussed new ideas. Today I feel that I have become part of the team. I realize that work is important not only for money, but also for development and learning new skills. I am happy with my profession as an engineer, and I hope to become better in the future.
