My Hobbies as a Grandmother

هواياتي كَجَدَّةٍ

أَنا اِمرَأَةٌ كَبيرةٌ فِي السِّنِّ، وَلَكِنَّنِي أَحِبُّ أَن أَكونَ نَشيطَةً. في كُلِّ صَباحٍ أَخرُجُ إِلى حَديقَتي. أَزرَعُ الأَزهارَ وَالخُضارَ، وَأَسقيها بِالماءِ. أَشعُرُ بِالفَرَحِ عِندَما أَرى الوُرودَ تَكبُرُ وَالأَوراقَ تَصبَحُ خَضراءَ. البُستَانُ هُوَ مَكانِي المُفَضَّلُ. أُحِبُّ أَيضًا أَن أَذهَبَ إِلى السّوقِ. هُناكَ أَشتَرِي الفَواكِهَ وَالخُبزَ، وَلَكِن أَكثَرُ شَيءٍ يُسَعِدُنِي هُوَ أَن أَشتَرِي هَدايا صَغيرَةً لِأَحفادي. أُحِبُّ أَن أُشاهِدَ الاِبتِسامَةَ عَلى وُجوهِهِم عِندَما أُعطِيهِم لُعبَةً أَو كِتابًا. في العُطَلِ أُسافِرُ إِلى أَماكِنَ جَديدَةٍ. أُحِبُّ أَن أَركَبَ القِطارَ أَو الحافِلَةَ وَأُشاهِدَ الطَّبيعَةَ مِنَ النّافِذَةِ. أَلتَقِطُ صُوَرًا كَثيرَةً لِلأَماكِنِ الَّتي أَزُورُها، وَأَحتَفِظُ بِها فِي أَلبومٍ خَاصٍّ. حَياتِي مَليئَةٌ بِالهِواياتِ وَالنَّشاطاتِ البَسيطَةِ، وَلَكِنَّها تُعطيني سَعادَةً كَبيرةً. أَعتَقِدُ أَنَّ البُستَانَ، وَالتَّسوّقَ، وَالسَّفَرَ تُساعِدُني أَن أَبقى قَوِيَّةً وَمَسرورَةً.

English Translation

I am an old woman, but I like to be active. Every morning I go out to my garden. I plant flowers and vegetables, and I water them. I feel happy when I see the roses grow and the leaves turn green. The garden is my favorite place. I also like to go to the market. There I buy fruit and bread, but what makes me happiest is buying small gifts for my grandchildren. I love to see the smile on their faces when I give them a toy or a book. On holidays I travel to new places. I like to take the train or the bus and watch nature from the window. I take many pictures of the places I visit, and I keep them in a special album. My life is full of simple hobbies and activities, but they give me great happiness. I believe that gardening, shopping, and traveling help me stay strong and joyful.
