My Application for the Community Garden

طَلَبِي لِلحَديقَةِ المُجتَمَعِيّة

أَسكُنُ في مَدينَةٍ كَبيرةٍ، وَلَيسَ عِندِي حَديقَةٌ صَغيرَةٌ في البَيتِ. في الأُسبوعِ الماضِي قَرَأتُ إِعلانًا عَن حَديقَةٍ مُجتَمَعِيّةٍ في حَيِّي. الحَديقَةُ مَكانٌ يَجمَعُ النّاسَ لِزِراعَةِ الخُضْرَواتِ وَالأَزهارِ. فَكَّرتُ أَنَّهُ فُرصَةٌ جَيِّدَةٌ لِتَعلُّمِ الزِّراعَةِ وَلِلتَّواصُلِ مَعَ الجِيرانِ. كُنتُ مَسرورًا لَمّا وَجَدتُ اسْمًا وَعُنوانًا في الإِعلانِ. كَتَبتُ رِسالَةً إِلى مَسؤُولِ الحَديقَةِ وَطَلَبتُ فيهَا مَكانًا لِي. شَرَحتُ أَنَّنِي أُحِبُّ أَن أزرَعَ طَماطِمَ وَخِيارًا وَبَقدونُسًا. كَذلِكَ قُلتُ أَنَّنِي أُرِيدُ أَن أَعمَلَ مَعَ أُناسٍ آخَرينَ وَأُساعِدَ في نَظافَةِ الحَديقَةِ. بَعدَ يَومَينِ، حَصَلتُ عَلى رَدٍّ طَيِّبٍ. قالُوا لِي إِنَّهُم قَبِلُوا طَلَبِي وَأَنَّ عِندِي قِطعَةَ أَرضٍ صَغيرَةٍ. فَرِحتُ كَثيرًا وَبَدَأتُ أُفَكِّرُ كَيفَ سَأُرتِّبُ النَّباتاتِ. أَتَوقَّعُ أَن تَكونَ هذِهِ الخِبرَةُ مُمَيَّزَةً، لِأَنَّنِي سَأَتَعلَّمُ الزِّراعَةَ وَسَأَتَعرَّفُ عَلى أَصدِقاءَ جُدُد.

English Translation

I live in a big city, and I do not have a small garden at home. Last week, I read an announcement about a community garden in my neighborhood. The garden is a place that brings people together to grow vegetables and flowers. I thought it was a good opportunity to learn farming and to connect with neighbors. I was happy when I found a name and address in the announcement. I wrote a letter to the garden manager and requested a spot for myself. I explained that I would like to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, and parsley. I also said that I want to work with other people and help keep the garden clean. After two days, I received a kind reply. They told me that they accepted my request and that I have a small piece of land. I was very happy and began to think about how I would arrange the plants. I expect this experience will be special, because I will learn gardening and meet new friends.
