Fishing in Saudi Arabia Through the Seasons

الصَّيْدُ فِي السُّعُودِيَّةِ عَبْرَ الفُصُولِ

أَنَا أَعْمَلُ فِي مِهْنَةِ الصَّيْدِ فِي السُّعُودِيَّةِ، وَأَرَى كَيْفَ تَتَغَيَّرُ بَيْنَ الفُصُولِ الأَرْبَعَةِ. فِي الرَّبِيعِ يَكُونُ البَحْرُ هَادِئًا، وَنَصْطَادُ أَسْمَاكًا صَغِيرَةً. فِي الصَّيْفِ يَزْدَادُ العَمَلُ، وَيَكُونُ الطَّقْسُ حَارًّا، وَلَكِنَّ الأَسْمَاكَ كَثِيرَةٌ. فِي الخَرِيفِ يَبْرُدُ الجَوُّ قَلِيلًا، وَنَصْطَادُ أَسْمَاكًا كَبِيرَةً. فِي الشِّتَاءِ يَكُونُ المَوْجُ قَوِيًّا، وَنَذْهَبُ أَقَلَّ إِلَى البَحْرِ. مَعَ ذَلِكَ نَسْتَمْتِعُ بِعَمَلِنَا فِي كُلِّ فَصْلٍ، لِأَنَّ الصَّيْدَ جُزْءٌ جَمِيلٌ مِنْ حَيَاتِنَا.

English Translation

I work in the fishing profession in Saudi Arabia, and I see how it changes between the four seasons. In spring the sea is calm, and we catch small fish. In summer the work increases, and the weather is hot, but the fish are many. In autumn the weather becomes a little cooler, and we catch big fish. In winter the waves are strong, and we go less to the sea. Still, we enjoy our work in every season, because fishing is a beautiful part of our life.
