Searching and Applying for a Job in a Modern Arab City

البحث عن عمل والتقديم في مدينة عربية حديثة

بعد أن أنهيت دراستي الجامعية قررت أن أبدأ رحلة البحث عن عمل في مدينتي العربية الحديثة. في البداية شعرت بالحيرة لأن سوق العمل واسع والخيارات كثيرة. جلست في غرفتي وفتحت حاسوبي لأبحث في مواقع التوظيف الإلكترونية. وجدت إعلانات لشركات مختلفة تطلب موظفين في مجالات متعددة مثل التسويق، إدارة الأعمال، وتكنولوجيا المعلومات. قرأت الوصف الوظيفي بعناية لأفهم ما هي المهارات المطلوبة، وحاولت أن أختار الوظائف التي تناسب شهادتي وخبرتي البسيطة. بعد ذلك أدركت أن أول خطوة رسمية هي إعداد السيرة الذاتية. جلست ساعات طويلة أكتب وأعدل وأرتب المعلومات. بدأت بوضع اسمي وبيانات الاتصال الخاصة بي، ثم أضفت قسمًا عن التعليم ذكرت فيه الجامعة والتخصص وسنة التخرج. بعدها كتبت عن الدورات التدريبية التي حضرتها، وأشرت إلى مهاراتي في استخدام الحاسوب واللغات الأجنبية. حاولت أن أجعل السيرة الذاتية واضحة ومنظمة بحيث تعكس شخصيتي وقدرتي على العمل بجدية. شعرت بالفخر عندما انتهيت من صياغتها بشكل مهني. ثم جاء دور كتابة رسالة التغطية. جلست أشرح فيها لماذا أرغب في هذه الوظيفة بالذات، وكيف يمكن أن أكون إضافة جيدة للفريق. حاولت أن أستخدم لغة رسمية لكن بسيطة في الوقت نفسه. قرأت الرسالة عدة مرات قبل أن أرسلها عبر البريد الإلكتروني مع السيرة الذاتية. في كل مرة أضغط زر الإرسال أشعر بمزيج من الأمل والقلق، وأتساءل إن كنت سأحصل على فرصة للمقابلة. بعد أيام تلقيت رسالة من إحدى الشركات تدعوني لمقابلة عمل. شعرت بالتوتر والفرح معًا. بدأت أستعد بجدية. قرأت عن الشركة وتاريخها ومجالات عملها، وحاولت أن أحفظ بعض المعلومات المهمة التي قد تساعدني في الإجابة عن الأسئلة. وقفت أمام المرآة أتدرب على تقديم نفسي بثقة، وأجبت بصوت مرتفع عن أسئلة متوقعة مثل ما هي نقاط قوتك وما هي نقاط ضعفك. اخترت ملابس رسمية أنيقة لأبدو بمظهر محترف. في يوم المقابلة وصلت قبل الموعد بربع ساعة وجلست في قاعة الانتظار. كنت أراقب الموظفين وهم يدخلون ويخرجون بسرعة، وشعرت أنني أقترب من الدخول إلى عالم جديد. عندما ناداني المسؤول ودخلت الغرفة رحب بي بابتسامة وبدأ بطرح الأسئلة. أجبت بهدوء وحاولت أن أكون صريحًا ومنظمًا. بعد انتهاء المقابلة خرجت وأنا أشعر بالارتياح لأنني قدمت أفضل ما عندي. فكرت أن البحث عن عمل ليس سهلًا، لكنه تجربة تعلمت منها الكثير عن نفسي وعن الحياة المهنية في المدينة الحديثة.

English Translation

After I finished my university studies, I decided to begin the journey of searching for a job in my modern Arab city. At first, I felt confused because the job market was wide and the options were many. I sat in my room and opened my computer to search job websites. I found advertisements from different companies asking for employees in various fields such as marketing, business administration, and information technology. I read the job descriptions carefully to understand the required skills, and I tried to choose the jobs that matched my degree and my limited experience. After that, I realized that the first formal step was to prepare a CV. I spent long hours writing, editing, and arranging the information. I started by putting my name and contact details, then I added an education section mentioning the university, my specialization, and my graduation year. After that, I wrote about the training courses I had attended and highlighted my skills in using computers and foreign languages. I tried to make the CV clear and organized to reflect my personality and my ability to work seriously. I felt proud when I finished drafting it in a professional way. Then came the turn of writing the cover letter. I sat explaining why I wanted this particular job and how I could be a good addition to the team. I tried to use formal but simple language at the same time. I read the letter several times before sending it by email with the CV. Each time I pressed the send button, I felt a mix of hope and anxiety, wondering if I would get a chance for an interview. After a few days, I received a message from one company inviting me to a job interview. I felt nervous and happy at the same time. I began preparing seriously. I read about the company, its history, and its fields of work, and I tried to memorize some important information that might help me answer the questions. I stood in front of the mirror practicing introducing myself confidently, and I answered loudly to expected questions such as What are your strengths and What are your weaknesses. I chose elegant formal clothes to look professional. On the day of the interview, I arrived fifteen minutes early and sat in the waiting room. I watched the employees going in and out quickly, and I felt that I was getting close to entering a new world. When the manager called me and I entered the room, he welcomed me with a smile and began asking questions. I answered calmly and tried to be honest and organized. After the interview ended, I left feeling relieved because I had given my best. I thought that searching for a job is not easy, but it is an experience from which I learned a lot about myself and about professional life in the modern city.
