Summer by the Sea

Zomer aan zee

Het is zomer, en ik ben bij de zee. De lucht is blauw, de zon is warm, en de wind is zacht. Ik loop op het strand met blote voeten. Het zand is licht en droog, maar soms koel bij het water. Ik hoor meeuwen, en ik ruik zout. Ik zwem een beetje, daarna rust ik op een handdoek. Ik drink koud water en eet een appel. Mijn vriend en ik bouwen een klein zandkasteel. We lachen veel. Later maak ik fotos van de golven en de schelpen. Ik schrijf een kaart voor mijn oma. Aan het eind van de dag is de lucht oranje en roze, en ik voel me rustig en blij.

English Translation

It is summer, and I am at the sea. The sky is blue, the sun is warm, and the wind is gentle. I walk on the beach with bare feet. The sand is light and dry, but sometimes cool near the water. I hear seagulls, and I smell salt. I swim a little, then I rest on a towel. I drink cold water and eat an apple. My friend and I build a small sandcastle. We laugh a lot. Later I take photos of the waves and the shells. I write a card for my grandma. At the end of the day the sky is orange and pink, and I feel calm and happy.
