The Farmer's Day

De boer werkt elke dag vroeg en hard. Hij woont op een boerderij met velden, koeien, kippen en soms schapen. In de ochtend controleert hij de dieren. The farmer works early and hard every day. He lives on a farm with fields, cows, chickens, and sometimes sheep. In the morning he checks the animals. He gives them water and feed, and he cleans the stalls. After that he looks at the weather, because sun and rain are very important for the land. In spring he plants seeds for wheat, corn, and vegetables. He uses a tractor to loosen the soil and to drive in straight lines. In summer he takes care of the weeds and gives the plants enough water. If there is a problem, such as drought or disease in the plants, he quickly looks for a solution. In autumn he harvests. He collects the grain and brings crates with vegetables to the market. At the market he talks with customers, weighs the products, and sets prices. The farmer also keeps the records. He writes down what he buys and sells, and he calls the supplier. Sometimes he has help from family or neighbors. The work is heavy, but he feels proud when the land is healthy. The farmer provides food, and that is important for everyone in the village and in the city.
