At the Bus Stop in Chile

Ĉe la bushaltejo en Ĉilio

Mateo staras ĉe bushaltejo en Santiago de Ĉilio. La mateno estas suna kaj freŝa. Li rigardas la horaron; ĝi montras buson 210 al la centro. Du turistoj ankaŭ atendas; ili parolas malrapide kaj fotas la Andojn. Apuda kiosko vendas akvon kaj mapon de la urbo, kaj eta hundo dormas. La buso alvenas, blua kaj blanka. English Translation

Mateo stands at a bus stop in Santiago, Chile. The morning is sunny and fresh. He looks at the timetable; it shows bus 210 to the center. Two tourists also wait; they speak slowly and take photos of the Andes. A nearby kiosk sells water and a map of the city, and a small dog sleeps. The bus arrives, blue and white. Mateo greets the driver and says: Good day. He pays with a BIP card and holds onto a handrail. A woman with a hat asks: Does this bus go to the center? Mateo smiles and answers: Yes, madam. People sit and stand. The bus moves slowly; the street has palm trees and walls with bright paintings. Mateo feels calm and ready for work.
