Renkonto ĉe la Universala Kongreso de Esperanto

La Universala Kongreso de Esperanto okazas unufoje jare en alia urbo. Partoprenantoj venas el multaj landoj, ofte per trajno, aviadilo, aŭ buso. Ili portas malgrandajn flagojn kun la verda stelo, kaj ili sentas ĝojan emocion pro la renkonto. En la unua tago ili registriĝas, ricevas nomŝildon kaj programon, kaj sekvas la solenan malfermon. Tie oni aŭskultas paroladojn, kantojn, kaj vidas buntan paradon de flagoj. Ĉiu tago havas simplan ritmon. Matene estas kursoj por komencantoj kaj por pli spertaj lernantoj. Poste venas prelegoj pri kulturo, vojaĝoj, kaj la lingvo mem. Malgrandaj rondoj trejnas paroli, demandi, kaj klarigi. En la manĝejo volontuloj ridetas kaj helpas trovi amikojn ĉe la tablo. Dum tagmezo oni ofte kantas konatajn kantojn kaj ludas facilajn ludojn. Vespere la kongreso proponas ekskursojn tra la urbo, koncertojn, kaj internacian manĝaĵan foiron. Tie partoprenas familioj kaj maljunuloj, kaj ankaŭ infanoj havas propran programon. Multaj homoj interŝanĝas adresojn, fotojn, kaj rakontojn. En la lasta tago okazas la ferma ceremonio. English Translation

The Universal Congress of Esperanto takes place once a year in another city. Participants come from many countries, often by train, airplane, or bus. They carry small flags with the green star, and they feel joyful emotion because of the meeting. On the first day they register, receive a name badge and a program, and follow the formal opening. There people listen to speeches, songs, and see a colorful parade of flags. Each day has a simple rhythm. In the morning there are courses for beginners and for more experienced learners. Then come talks about culture, trips, and the language itself. Small groups train to speak, to ask, and to explain. In the dining hall volunteers smile and help to find friends at the table. At midday people often sing well-known songs and play easy games. In the evening the congress offers excursions around the city, concerts, and an international food fair. There families and older people take part, and children also have their own program. Many people exchange addresses, photos, and stories. On the last day the closing ceremony takes place. Everyone promises to use Esperanto more on the internet and in a local club. They say See you again, and already plan the next congress.
