Korea filma festivalo okazas ĉiu aŭtuno en marborda urbo, kie montoj renkontas la maron kaj lumoj brilas super larĝaj placoj. Vizitantoj venas el multaj landoj por vidi novajn verkoj de spertaj reĝisoroj kaj kuraĝaj komencantoj. A Korean film festival takes place every autumn in a coastal city, where mountains meet the sea and lights shine above wide plazas. Visitors come from many countries to see new works by experienced directors and brave beginners. The festival offers feature films, documentaries, and short projects, and it arranges a public program for young viewers, for students, and for families. On the opening ceremonial evening, a red carpet awaits actors, musicians, and guests, while cameras click and fans enthusiastically greet their idols. After the greetings, everyone sits in a large cinema with modern sound and a clear screen, and the first film begins. Before the event, city galleries show posters with colorful images, so that residents feel pride and curiosity about the program. During the following days the atmosphere remains energetic. In the morning people drink warm tea beside street stalls and plan their schedules with mobile phones. In the afternoon they move among many venues, because screenings happen not only in the center, but also in neighborhoods near the harbor. Volunteers help with maps and smiles, and they explain how to buy tickets without a long wait. Some viewers choose small cinemas, where one can meet the director after the film and ask about places, stories, and actors. Others prefer a big theater with an outdoor screen, so that a breeze from the sea mixes with music and voices. Many films have subtitles in English and Korean, and guides explain the rules with simple phrases for an international audience. In the evening the festival shows training workshops about editing, sound, and translation, so that new filmmakers learn in a practical way. After the learning the city does not sleep. Restaurants offer spicy dishes with rice, vegetables, and seaweed, and shops sell souvenirs late, such as posters and shiny badges. When the last day comes, the prizes are announced. Applause fills the hall, and people feel inspiration to create or to continue supporting artistic projects.
