My Neighborhood in Tehran

محله من در تهران

من در یک محله شلوغ در تهران زندگی می‌کنم. خانه ما نزدیک یک خیابان اصلی است و هر روز صدای اتوبوس و تاکسی را می‌شنوم. صبح زود از خانه بیرون می‌روم و با همسایه‌ها سلام می‌کنم. بقالی کوچک سر کوچه همیشه باز است و صاحب مهربان آن لبخند می‌زند. نانوایی هم کمی دورتر است و بوی نان تازه در هوا می‌پیچد. در کنار میدان، یک پارک تمیز داریم. عصرها با خواهرم به پارک می‌رویم، روی نیمکت می‌نشینیم و بچه‌ها را که بازی می‌کنند تماشا می‌کنیم. بعضی روزها در مسیر، از مغازه میوه‌فروشی سیب و پرتقال می‌خرم. قیمت‌ها معمولی است و فروشنده با حوصله حرف می‌زند. مدرسه قدیمی من هم در همین محله است، و من گاهی معلم‌های سابقم را می‌بینم. در روزهای پنجشنبه، بازارچه محلی برگزار می‌شود و مردم از محله‌های دیگر هم می‌آیند. آنجا لباس ساده، صنایع دستی، و خوراکی‌های خانگی می‌فروشند. محله ما امن است، اما شب‌ها خیابان‌ها شلوغ می‌شود، برای همین زود به خانه برمی‌گردم. من از زندگی در این محله راضی هستم، چون حمل‌ونقل راحت است، آدم‌ها صمیمی هستند، و هر روز چیز تازه‌ای می‌بینم. واقعاً دوستش دارم.

English Translation

I live in a busy neighborhood in Tehran. Our home is near a main street, and every day I hear the sound of buses and taxis. Early in the morning I go out and greet the neighbors. The small grocery at the corner is always open, and its kind owner smiles. The bakery is a bit farther, and the smell of fresh bread spreads in the air. Next to the square, we have a clean park. In the evenings I go there with my sister, we sit on a bench and watch the children playing. Some days on the way I buy apples and oranges from the fruit shop. Prices are normal, and the seller talks patiently. My old school is also in this neighborhood, and I sometimes see my former teachers. On Thursdays, a local market is held, and people from other neighborhoods also come. They sell simple clothes, handicrafts, and homemade snacks. Our neighborhood is safe, but at night the streets get busy, so I go home early. I am happy living here, because transport is easy, people are friendly, and every day I see something new. I really like it.
