Maria vizitează biblioteca în fiecare sâmbătă după amiază. Clădirea este veche dar luminoasă și are ferestre mari. Când intră, ea își salută bibliotecara și își pune geanta pe un scaun. Maria are un permis de bibliotecă și îl poartă mereu în portofel. Îi place să caute titluri noi pe rafturi, să citească primele pagini și să aleagă o carte pentru weekend. Uneori caută ghiduri pentru hobbyuri, cum ar fi gătit, desen sau grădinărit. Alteori alege povești ușoare în română, ca să practice limba. În bibliotecă este liniște. Oamenii citesc, scriu sau folosesc calculatoarele. Maria citește încet, face notițe în caiet și verifică un dicționar mic. Dacă are o întrebare, ea merge la biroul de informații. Bibliotecara explică regulile, arată rafturile speciale și recomandă autori. Maria învață că poate împrumuta trei cărți timp de două săptămâni și le poate reînnoi online. Înainte să plece, Maria participă la un club de lectură pentru începători. Grupul discută o poveste scurtă, iar fiecare persoană spune ce a înțeles. Apoi ea împrumută cărțile alese și primește un bilet cu data de retur. Afară, Maria se simte liniștită și motivată. Ea abia așteaptă să se întoarcă duminica viitoare.

English Translation

Maria visits the library every Saturday afternoon. The building is old but bright and has large windows. When she enters, she greets the librarian and puts her bag on a chair. Maria has a library card and always carries it in her wallet. She likes to look for new titles on the shelves, read the first pages, and choose a book for the weekend. Sometimes she looks for guides for hobbies, like cooking, drawing, or gardening. Other times she chooses easy stories in Romanian, to practice the language. In the library it is quiet. People read, write, or use the computers. Maria reads slowly, makes notes in a notebook, and checks a small dictionary. If she has a question, she goes to the information desk. The librarian explains the rules, shows the special shelves, and recommends authors. Maria learns that she can borrow three books for two weeks and can renew them online. Before leaving, Maria takes part in a reading club for beginners. The group discusses a short story, and each person says what they understood. Then she borrows the chosen books and receives a ticket with the return date. Outside, Maria feels calm and motivated. She can’t wait to go back next Sunday.
