First Day of Secondary School

Prima zi la școala gimnazială

Astăzi a fost prima mea zi la școala gimnazială. M-am trezit devreme și am privit pe fereastră. Cerul era senin, dar eu aveam emoții. Mi-am pregătit ghiozdanul cu caiete, pixuri, o sticlă de apă și un sandviș. Mama m-a întrebat dacă sunt pregătit. I-am zâmbit, dar inima îmi bătea repede. Am mers pe jos până la școală, pe strada liniștită, printre copaci verzi. În curte am văzut mulți elevi noi. Un băiat m-a salutat politicos și m-a întrebat cum mă cheamă. I-am spus numele meu și am făcut cunoștință. Clasa noastră este luminoasă și are postere colorate. Diriginta ne-a urat bun venit și ne-a explicat orarul, regulile și pauzele. Am ascultat atent și am notat lucrurile importante. La prima oră am lucrat în perechi. Eu am lucrat cu o fată prietenoasă, care mi-a arătat unde este biblioteca. În pauză am mâncat sandvișul și am râs cu colegii. Când s-a terminat ziua, eram obosit, dar și fericit. Acum știu drumul, știu fețe noi și mă simt mai curajos. Abia aștept ziua de mâine, cu lecții, prieteni și descoperiri. Voi păstra acest început în minte și voi lucra cu răbdare și bucurie.

English Translation

Today was my first day at middle school. I woke up early and looked out the window. The sky was clear, but I was nervous. I prepared my backpack with notebooks, pens, a bottle of water, and a sandwich. Mom asked me if I was ready. I smiled at her, but my heart was beating fast. I walked to school on the quiet street, among green trees. In the yard I saw many new students. A boy greeted me politely and asked me what my name is. I told him my name and we introduced ourselves. Our classroom is bright and has colorful posters. The form teacher welcomed us and explained the timetable, the rules, and the breaks. I listened carefully and wrote down the important things. In the first lesson we worked in pairs. I worked with a friendly girl who showed me where the library is. During the break I ate my sandwich and laughed with classmates. When the day ended, I was tired, but also happy. Now I know the way, I know new faces, and I feel braver. I can’t wait for tomorrow, with lessons, friends, and discoveries. I will keep this beginning in mind and I will work with patience and joy.
