Șoferul de tramvai

Eu sunt șofer de tramvai în orașul meu. În fiecare dimineață mă trezesc devreme, beau cafea, îmi pun uniforma albastră și merg la depou. Acolo verific tramvaiul, roțile, ușile, frânele și luminile. Pornesc motorul și salut colegii. La ora șase plec pe prima linie. Mă uit la semafoare și la oglinzi, ascult radioul și primesc mesaje de la dispecer. Opresc în stații, deschid ușile și îi invit pe oameni să urce în siguranță. Uneori urcă copii cu ghiozdan, alteori urcă bunici cu baston, iar eu îi ajut cu răbdare. Când plouă sau ninge, merg mai încet. Sun clopoțelul în curbe și la treceri, pentru ca toată lumea să fie atentă. Respect programul, dar uneori traficul este aglomerat. Atunci anunț pasagerii și zâmbesc. Îmi place acest serviciu, pentru că văd orașul, parcurile, piețele și clădirile vechi. La pauză mănânc un sandvici și vorbesc cu un coleg despre traseu. Seara, întorc tramvaiul la depou, fac un raport scurt și mulțumesc zilei. Mâine voi porni din nou, cu aceeași grijă și cu aceeași bucurie. Uneori turiștii mă întreabă despre bilete și rute, iar eu explic clar, cu cuvinte simple, ca să înțeleagă ușor și să ajungă la destinație. Îmi iubesc munca și respect fiecare pasager. Tramvaiul este mare, dar îl conduc cu atenție.

English Translation

I am a tram driver in my city. Every morning I wake up early, drink coffee, put on my blue uniform, and go to the depot. There I check the tram, the wheels, the doors, the brakes, and the lights. I start the engine and greet my colleagues. At six o'clock I leave on the first line. I look at the traffic lights and the mirrors, listen to the radio, and receive messages from the dispatcher. I stop at stations, open the doors, and invite people to get on safely. Sometimes children with backpacks get on, other times grandparents with a cane, and I help them patiently. When it rains or snows, I go more slowly. I ring the bell in curves and at crossings, so that everyone is attentive. I follow the schedule, but sometimes the traffic is crowded. Then I inform the passengers and smile. I like this job because I see the city, the parks, the squares, and the old buildings. At the break I eat a sandwich and talk with a colleague about the route. In the evening I return the tram to the depot, make a short report, and thank the day. Tomorrow I will start again, with the same care and the same joy. Sometimes tourists ask me about tickets and routes, and I explain clearly, with simple words, so they understand easily and reach their destination. I love my work and respect every passenger. The tram is big, but I drive it carefully.
