A Home in Zanzibar

Nyumba Huko Zanzibar

English Translation

This house is in Zanzibar, near the blue sea. Its owner is called Amina, and she lives with her younger brother. The house has a small living room, one bedroom, and a clean kitchen. The walls are white, and the floor is cool in the daytime. The wooden door has small decorations, and big windows bring in light. In the morning, Amina opens the windows, hears a gentle breeze, and smells the scent of salt. She cooks ginger tea in the kitchen, then cleans the table and dishes. In the evening, her brother laughs in the living room, reads a simple book, and listens to the radio. On the weekend, they sit outside the house to watch the setting sun, people at the market, and small boats on the sea. Their home is calm, safe, and full of love.
