At the Duka
Dukani
English Translation
This morning I go to the shop near my house. I wear a light shirt and I carry a small basket. I want to buy one bread, one liter of milk, six eggs, and four bananas. I wait in the line, and I tell the seller, Hello, please, how much is the price? The seller tells me, The bread is one thousand five hundred shillings, the milk is two thousand shillings, the eggs are three thousand shillings, and the bananas are eight hundred shillings. I pay with notes and coins. I say thank you, I receive change, and I put the things inside the basket. The total is seven thousand three hundred shillings. I leave the shop, count my money, and I return home calmly.
