Buying Clothes at the Market

Kununua Nguo Sokoni

Leo ninaenda sokoni kununua nguo.

English Translation

Today I go to the market to buy clothes. I need a new T-shirt, nice trousers, and a rain coat. I take my wallet and a short list. I want simple colors, like black and blue. Before leaving, I count the money: two thousand and five hundred shillings. I look at the shop window, I see a sign with the word discount, I see cheap T-shirts. I check my size and ask myself, will this fit me? I enjoy the air and the music of the market. The shopkeeper says, Welcome. I ask, How much is this T-shirt? He answers, It is seven hundred shillings. I say, Please lower it a little, I have a small budget. He thinks, he says, Okay, six hundred shillings. I try the T-shirt, it fits and suits me well. I am still looking for trousers, I ask for the color brown. Finally I pay with notes and coins, I keep the receipt, I am thankful, I say, Thank you, goodbye.
