Visiting the Doctor
Kutembelea Daktari
Kesho nitarudi kazini taratibu.
English Translation
Yesterday morning I felt a fever and a headache. I had a small cough, and my throat was dry. I drank a lot of water and rested, but the condition did not change. I also noticed my stomach had pain after eating. Because of that, I decided to go to the doctor at a clinic near my house. I wore a mask and took my health card. When I arrived, I was registered early at the reception desk, and a nurse measured my body temperature and blood pressure. I sat on a chair, waiting calmly. The doctor called me into the room and asked questions. I explained my symptoms in simple words. He examined my throat, ears, and chest, then said I had the flu and tiredness. He gave me medicine to deal with the fever, pain tablets, and cough medicine. He told me to continue drinking water, to eat light food, and to sleep early. He said I should return if I do not feel better after three days. I left the clinic with hope. Now I do light exercise, breathe slowly, and listen to my body. I am learning to care for myself and to plan time, so that I go to work without fear. In the evening I took the medicine as he wrote, measured my temperature at home, and put something cool on my forehead. I sent a message to a friend, who reminded me to wash my hands and rest more. Tomorrow I will return to work slowly.
