Watching a Football Match
English Translation
Juma likes to watch football matches during the weekend. Today he goes to the stadium with his friends, Asha and Peter. They walk early so that they do not miss a good seat. Outside the stadium, they buy tickets, cold water, and peanuts. Inside there is music, team colors, and flags waving. Juma wears his team jersey and smiles. The leading player is famous, and everyone cheers for him. The whistle is blown, the first half begins. Their team makes short passes, then the ball is taken to the wing. A defender blocks the attacker, but the goalkeeper of the opposing team slips. The fans stand up and make noise, Goal! The ball goes into the net, and they sing a song of victory. Juma claps many times. He feels joy and also excitement; in his heart he wants another goal. After the break, the game continues with speed. The opposing team tries to get a goal back, but the defense works well. There is a corner, the corner is taken quickly, a header hits the ball, and our goalkeeper saves. The last minutes pass slowly, everyone counts. In the end, Juma’s team wins by two goals to one. They leave the stadium slowly, they talk about the star of the game, and they plan to watch the next match together. Juma collects pictures with his phone, and his friends arrange a plan to buy tickets early next week.
